Tough Junkie
photo + article Urban Jacksonville

Jacksonville hip hop all-star (and Urban Jacksonville Weekly intro producer) Tough Junkie has produced the latest track for the new Black Sheep single “Birds of a Feather”.

This is HUGE. Jacksonville hip hop history! Ian Ranne said it best: That’s right folks, Q Tip, De La, Black Sheep, and The JBs on a TOUGH JUNKIE track….sorta like a big deal to my people!

In the late 80s and early 90s, the loosely affiliated Native Tongues crew brought a playful bohemian warmth to hip-hop, helping to expand the genre’s boundaries. And now Black Sheep leader Dres has reunited luminaries from four principal Native Tongues groups (De La Soul, A Tribe Called Quest, Jungle Brothers, and Black Sheep) for the Black Sheep single “Birds of a Feather”.
